SyncScript is proud to announce that our CEO, Liz Granahan, has been nominated for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2018 Woman of the Year! The LLS’s Man & Woman of the Year program is a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research among a group of motivated and dedicated individuals. Liz’s goal is to raise $50,000 for the LLS during this 10-week fundraising campaign, which begins on April 5th.
Liz is leveraging LLS’s annual Man & Woman of The Year Campaign as a way to raise funds for blood cancer research so that other families do not have to suffer the fate of this terrible disease. Blood cancer research can be the gateway to curing other cancers! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has invested more than $1 billion in research to find the cure for blood cancers and their fundraising goals focus on continuing to support that research.
Liz is taking on this campaign as a result of her deep family connection with blood cancer. Her sister, aunt, and uncle have all suffered from the disease. She knows that contributing to this organization is a way to support change for how the world treats cancer. In 2017 alone, there were 18 FDA drug approvals to treat blood cancer, of which 15 were directly funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Liz is committed to supporting LLS’s mission in its efforts to find a CURE and in turn, supporting patients and families impacted by blood cancers.
This isn’t the first cause that Liz has put her efforts into. She’s participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Prevent Child Abuse America, The Girl Scouts of America, Phillies Charities 5K, and the Army 10-Miler for the U.S. Army Family & Morale, Welfare & Recreation, among others. Focusing on giving back not only supports those in need but provides a role model to her children to show them that no matter how small, any effort can truly make a difference in the community.
